A FIGHT THAT CANNOT CEASE
Malvinas, a name that echoes with pain, pride, and a profound sense of injustice. Since my childhood, I've grown up hearing stories about the islands, about the war that marked an entire generation, about the heroes who sacrificed their lives in defense of our land. But as the years pass, the wound remains open, the claim for our sovereignty still stands, and the Malvinas remain under illegal occupation.
Another year passes, yet the landscape remains unchanged. The islands still lie in foreign hands, under a strange flag waving on their soil as a constant reminder of our lost southern pearl, as their anthem sings. There's no progress in negotiations; everything seems to be stuck in a strange and horrible moment of stagnation in the fight for our rights as Argentinians. That's when I say that it's not about the titles of honor of our representatives, but rather about the interest in our homeland that should drive them.
I wonder how it's possible that in the twenty-first century there is still colonialism in our territory. How is it possible that, after so many years, our southernmost province remains fragmented and parts of it are still inaccessible to us, its true owners? How is it possible that the memory of Argentinians who gave their lives defending our lands is tarnished by the lack of action and the indifference of those who have the power to change things?
Because our fight for the Malvinas and the rest of the South Atlantic islands goes far beyond the square meters they occupy. It's a matter of identity, sovereignty, and justice. It's every Argentine's right to freely tread our own soil, to feel part of a land that belongs to us by historical and legal right. It's the memory of our fallen, whose sacrifice must not be forgotten or betrayed.
For the glory and honor of being part of this land, I cannot allow myself to forget!
So today, I write this with the firm purpose of moving forward, of not giving up in the face of injustice and adversity that some sectors of society want to make us complicit in. But I know the battle won't be easy. There are powerful interests at play, political and "diplomatic" obstacles we must face. However, I refuse to give up. Because I know the truth is on our side, justice will prevail, and someday, the Malvinas will be Argentine again.
In the meantime, I cling to hope, to the strength of my people, to the memory of our heroes. Because I know that as long as there are Argentinians willing to fight for what is just and right, we will never truly be alone. And so, with a heart full of pride and determination, I march forward in the eternal struggle for our Malvinas, for our homeland, for our sovereignty.
