THE CARNIVAL, A FESTIVAL FOR SIN

Masks to hide identity.

A beautiful day has begun. The sun shines on Mar del Plata and I imagine that the people who are visiting us in the city must already be thinking about going to the beach.

It's Monday, but it's a carnival holiday. A celebration that varies depending on the geographical place where it is held, but which, in my view, will always highlight the pleasure towards the vices of the flesh (although many, ironically, fast from animal meat so as not to fall into sin). , as well as the veneration of multiple pagan gods, lust and the abuse of alcoholic beverages. Carnival is a "religious" party that the world loves and has made people normalize situations that even become perversions, after all there is that misinterpreted "permission to sin."

In my neighborhood (as in all of Argentina), all these days people gather in the main square to prepare for the corsican with the batucadas and dances. In Brazil, the "mais grande do mundo" carnival is held and the rest of Latin America is not far behind. In Europe, carnivals are also protagonists in countries like Germany or Italy (although they are not the only ones of course), while in Russia and other Eastern European countries, the maslenitsa is also present.

It always comes to my mind when I think of carnival, the same thing that those "Christians" do in the famous Catholic church that exists on the Reeperbahn street in Hamburg (yes, I'm talking about the sexual red light district of that German city) when they will ask for the forgiveness of their sins after having consumed the sexual services offered in the "liberty district"
